Serves Must Be Under-Hand.

In pickleball, serving underhand ensures a slower, more controlled serve, making the game more accessible and fostering longer rallies for greater enjoyment and strategy.

Serve Behind the Baseline

In pickleball, serving from behind the baseline ensures that the server is positioned correctly, promoting fair play and providing the receiver with a standardized opportunity to return the serve.

Serves Go Diagonally

In pickleball, serving diagonally ensures fair play by maintaining consistent court coverage and strategy, promoting accuracy, and balancing the gameplay dynamics between opponents.

After earning her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, she completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital, followed by a residency in Radiology at UT Southwestern in Dallas. Next came a one-year fellowship in women’s imaging at UTSW, and with this extensive training, she soon joined the staff at the prestigious Cooper Clinic, practicing diagnostic radiology.

We work with you to determine the root cause, rather than just treat your symptoms.

The Functional Medicine model is an individualized, science-based approach that relies on a detailed understanding of each patient’s environmental, biochemical, and lifestyle factors, to create personalized treatment plans. By addressing root cause, rather than symptoms, practitioners may find one condition with many different causes and, likewise, one cause resulting in many different conditions. As a result, Functional Medicine treatment targets the specific manifestations of disease in each individual.

A new focus, a new path forward

“I was absolutely fascinated,” Engels says, “by this new style of medicine that saw the patient as a whole biological system rather focusing on only one organ system at a time, such as Cardiology. This was a complete paradigm shift from conventional medicine and how I was trained.”
